Sunny Side Up - A real Chick Flick

I didn't google for Sunny Side Ups over a month, but a friend reminded me. Thank you Bev. I found three more articles about this Kathryn project. This way we can locate the filming a little better. Maybe you didn't noticed yet but I changed my side bar a little bit, including all four current Kathryn movies. I hope for more information in the next weeks.

Unfortunately I didn't get any response of my two emails from Christy Scott Cashman. Should I try it again? Visit Saint Air Production to follow Sunny Side Up.

“Sunny Side Up” begins filming at Hingham’s Weir River Farm

Independent movie being shot at several South Shore locations

HINGHAM — The title of a new independent movie being filmed on the South Shore this week is “Sunny Side Up.” If it makes you think of eggs, then it should come as no big surprise that filmmakers needed a farm with chickens as the perfect backdrop.

That’s why they turned to Weir River Farm in Hingham, where they will be filming for much of the next three weeks. Eggs at the farm were in short supply earlier this past week after the movie crew scooped them up for a scene involving an incubator.

Local actress and producer Christy Scott Cashman wrote the screenplay about a woman struggling to hold on to a chicken farm that has been in her family for generations.

A chance meeting, which will be filmed at Cohasset’s Red Lion Inn, brings her together with an energy and fitness guru.

They hatch a plan to make their own reality show as a way to keep the farm running.

Parker Posey, who starred in the Christopher Guest movie “Best in Show,” will play the role of the fitness guru. Cashman has the lead role as the farmer.

Filmmakers will also be shooting scenes on Baxter Avenue in Quincy as well as in Cohasset and in Scituate at the Egypt Country Store.

“(This area) has a quaint feel to it – a fishing town feel – and that’s what we were looking for,” said Ryan Cook, assistant location manager for the film.

Parts of “The Witches of Eastwick,” released in 1987, was filmed in the Cohasset, Hingham and Scituate area.
