'Worst Friends' Indie Comedy Finds North American Distributor

12:01 PM PST 07/03/2014 by Austin Siegemund-Broka

Level 33 "Worst Friends" Level 33 will release the film from Ralph Arend of "CollegeHumor Originals."

Level 33 Entertainment has acquired the comedy Worst Friends for distribution in North America.

The film centers on prankster Jake (Richard Tanne), who is hit by a car and only has his childhood friend Sam (Noah Barrow) to take care of him. His recovery is aided by physical therapist Lily (Cody Horn) and Sam until Sam's high school crush Zoe (Kristen Connolly) moves back to town.

It will be released Sept. 16 on VOD and DVD with select theatrical screenings.

The comedy was directed and written by CollegeHumor Originals director Ralph Arend from a story by Arend, Barrow and Tanne. The three of them produced — Tanne through his October County Films banner — as did Erika Hampson.

“This film was a labor of love to all involved, and we’re thrilled to partner with a dynamic company like Level 33 in helping it reach the widest audience possible,” Tanne said in a statement.

Debbie Von Arx negotiated the deal on behalf of the producers

Indie Comedy ‘Worst Friends’ Lands At Level 33

By THE DEADLINE TEAM | Wednesday July 2, 2014 @ 2:34pm PDT

EXCLUSIVE: Indie comedy Worst Friends has been acquired by Level 33 Entertainment, which is planning a multiplatform September 16 release. Richard Tanne, Noah Barrow, House of Cards‘ Kristen Connolly, Magic Mike‘s Cody Horn, Geoffrey Arend, and Larry Fessenden star in the pic from writer-director Ralph Arend, who conceived the story with Tanne and Barrow. Tanne stars as self-involved prankster Jake, who’s left in a wheelchair after a car accident with only his childhood friend Sam (Barrow) and his no-nonsense physical therapist (Horn) to care for him. When Sam’s high school crush Zoe (Connolly) moves back to town, old rivalries resurface. Tanne produced for his October County Films banner with Arent, Barrow, and Erika Hampson. Debbie Von Arx struck the deal on behalf of the filmmakers. Tanne is repped by WME and Dobré Films.

Law  & Order: Criminal Intent - 'The 8th Year' of the Dick Wolf-Created Series is Coming to DVD

Late October release from Shout! Factory Posted by David Lambert 7/09/2012 at TVShowsonDVD

Shout! Factory's licensed-from-Universal release of The 7th Year DVDs hit stores just a few weeks ago. Now the studio has scheduled an October 23rd in-store date for Law & Order: Criminal Intent - The 8th Year. The 4-disc package, whose artwork is shown below, will set you back no more than $44.99 SRP. But you can already pre-order this from Amazon.com at a nice discount.

Joe

Finally, the Yosemite program with Kathryn's greetings and sign, Blanca organized for me arrived two days ago.

Thank you again my friend for your help during the whole letter project.

Now the program hangs next to my other Kathryn autographs and the one of Vincent I own beside other CI stuff. Space is getting less ;o)

After I opened the envelope which included also a sweet note of Blanca and a self-made shamrock of Alberto I checked again Kathryn's iMDb page [Inspired by the intro of Kathryn in the Yosemite program]. I wanted to check if there is maybe a new project we can be excited about. Nothing new, but my eyes fell on a movie I never paid attention before.

Joe - the only US short to be accepted to the 1997 Cannes Film Festival, is about a man whose happiness resolves around his shoes.

Kathryn got a SPECIAL THANKS in Sasha Wolf's short of 1997.

Unfortunately there are so less information about this movie. But you can get a DVD copy at amazon. Short 3 - Authority is a compilation of 8 international short films including Joe.

Sasha Wolf's Joe, the quietly observed story of a man holding on to his precarious sense of identity in a mental hospital, and the experimental comic piece.

I ask me, did Kathryn make a short guest appearance? Did she offer her home for filming? Supported she the film maker in any other direction?. I would like to watch the movie and find out. But maybe one of you knows a few answers...

The Vanishing City

The Vanishing City

Literally hundreds of luxury high-rises are in development in Manhattan and the outer boroughs. While low-income housing such as Mitchell-Lama is being phased out, the new low and moderate income units being constructed are grossly inadequate. It is increasingly obvious that the economic development is not being evenly spread and that New York is moving closer and closer to a two-tier city of rich and poor. We decided to make a film about this...
