100 Drabble - Contract + historic icons

Title: Deal, or no deal?
Prompt: Contract
Flavor: Criminal Intent
Characters: Alexandra Eames/Robert Goren
Rating: T
Word Count: 101
A/N: Post Loyalty

Finally, a soft but well-known knock made her catch her breath. Alex had expected him earlier. Maybe he needed time to think about everything, or he had misplaced their contract and couldn’t find it.

As she nervously opened the door her eyes fell first on the excited face of her former partner and then on the crinkled napkin with the faded kohl writing in his hand.

They drew up the pact on a very drunken night after Jimmy Deakins’ was forced out and their exhausting fight against Adair and the system. Now their partnership was over and they could…
…one night.

I watch [info]history20in20 from day one on, but never had the time to join one round until now. Here are my 20 Marie Antoinette icons.

The one step too much…

Yes, I confess seeing Bobby having his shrink sessions, talking about hidden places of his mind and soul, wanted me also one talk about Alex.

But I want him to chat about his friendship, his trust – although ‘all people lie’, being ambiguous. But not a: ‘Do you love her?’ Whatever he would answer (What? C’mon, she is my partner.), fans will get hurt. See, I should be very careful what I wish.

But I watched the new trailer several times. Something is wrong. Of course the Network will make as much money as possible. They need as much people who watch Criminal Intent live to satisfy their advertising affiliates. How? Making a new trailer and creating much excitement with love.

When looking at Bobby’s clothes of the first three sessions, he wore a dark suit, white shirt and a tie at The Consoler. But in Boots on the Ground and also in The Last Street in Manhattan Bobby wore both times a dark suit (or jacket with dark jeans?) and a grey shirt without tie.

After the love question, Bobby burst out. He wants to give away his badge when the bosses want to have it. But that is not the same session. It’s not his reaction of: ‘Do you love her?’. The whole trailer is a mix.

Don’t look at Bobby. Okay, that is hard but take a look at the outfit of Dr. Severin. She asked the love question with big ear rings and in a black top/cardigan. When Bobby stood up and wants to give away his badge, she carries no ear rings or very small ones and a red blouse with a black jacket.

What do we learn? Not people lie, trailers lie.

Yes, I am a shipper but I don’t want an answer on a direct love question. I know the chances to hear the in my ears wrong answer is much bigger than to get satisfied.

Download the clip at megaupload.

[Sorry for the picture quality, the trailer was filmed with a camera of the TV. But THANK YOU SO MUCH my Vincent and Kathryn and CI source. I'm so lucky to have you. After reading all the trailer tweets last night I was so scarred but after watching the clip I'm soothed again.]

100 Drabble + LJ Pimping

Title: Hot
Prompt: Grill
Characters: Alexandra Eames/Robert Goren
Rating: T
Word Count: 99
A/N 1: I read this tweet yesterday: Hey Guys, There is nothing sexier than when you wear a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up. I thought, so true and re-tweeted the line not without to arrange my current 100 around.

Dedicated to my friend Suzanne.

The sun burned remorselessly down the bleakly concrete dessert and the rusted garage. His sweaty damp hair curled around his heated neck. He was bending deep over the radiator grill of his muscle car, pottering about the old engine. He reached for the flannel sticking in his tight jeans to clean his oil-smudgy hands which passed in slight tanned arms covered with rolled up sleeves of an old dress shirt.

Alex bit her lips to suppress a soft moan, taking a last secret gaze on him before she stepped closer her partner, picking him up for their next case.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent Series Wrap

We stumbled across Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe on Broadway & 22nd as they thanked the crew and wrapped the Law & Order: Criminal Intent series.

Today I read an interview with Kathryn asking questions to her coming back to Criminal Intent for the last season. Bay the way today is the last filming day of Season 10. Thanks again to Nantz and TheReel for all the CI updates over the last couple of weeks. This way my own CI S10 information collection could grow and grow.

You can find the article here: Q&A: Kathryn Erbe of 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent' - by David Martindale, special to dfw.com.
Posted 10:53am on Tuesday, May. 24, 2011

She can walk the walk. She can talk the talk. But Kathryn Erbe, one of the stars of Law & Order: Criminal Intent, freely admits that nearly a decade of playing a police detective has yet to rub off on her. In real life, Erbe says, she's still "too much of a wimp." If she were given a badge and gun and dropped off at an actual police station, Erbe estimates that she could blend in and look like she belongs for a few minutes. But it wouldn't take long before she gave herself away as a fraud. "I'd be wondering where the hair and makeup people are and who tells me what to do when the perp is coming at me and who do I hide behind," she says. "I can't even touch what the real guys do every day." Still, she has always been quite good at faking it as Det. Alexandra Eames, longtime partner to Vincent D’Onofrio's Det. Robert Goren. Goren and Eames were the original L&O: CI team when the show premiered in 2001, but they went missing in Season 9. Now they're back in what probably will be the farewell season, with episodes airing at 8 p.m. Sundays on USA. "I was devastated not to be doing the part all the way through," Erbe says. "But it's a huge joy to be back."

You were phased out in Season 9, because D'Onofrio wasn't doing Season 9. If it had been your choice, would you have stayed and teamed up with someone else?

"If Vincent wasn't my partner? I probably would have gone on to do it, but I wouldn't have been happy without him. So in hindsight, the way things happened, this is the perfect way for it to have gone down. I don't think that Eames would have been the same without Goren. This is what the audience loves to see and they made it very clear in their feedback: This is the team they wanted to watch."

What was the first day back on the set like?

"It was awesome. I felt actually very emotional being back. I was so glad. But I worried. I didn't know how it was going to be, whether we were going to be rusty or not. But my memory of it is just walking down from my dressing room onto the set, passing one person after another who I've known for 10 years, some longer, and it was really like coming home. It especially felt that way doing the things with Vince. It just was like riding a bike. We have done it for so long. I've now done this show for a quarter of my life. So we just have a shorthand and there's a lot of unspoken communication how we think the things should go. Plus, we have 95 percent of our crew back, really out of loyalty. They left jobs or they waited to come back and do these last eight episodes with us. It just has felt really, really wonderful."

How have you felt over the years about those handful of episodes in which the bad guys get away?

"I loved those, actually. I thought it was always interesting to mix it up a little bit, especially with Nicole Wallace [a frequent villain, played by Olivia d'Abo, who became Goren's arch nemesis]. Those were episodes I really looked forward to. 'What was Wallace going to be up to this time?' I wished that Eames could have been the one to take her down in defense of Goren, protecting him. But it didn't go that way."

When it's all said and done, is there something you'd like to take from the set as a memento?

"When I left the last time, I took what I wanted. I took the picture of my dog, Frieda, which I keep meaning to bring back. When we started shooting this show, the building we used was where they printed the New York Post. The reporters weren't there anymore, but we used a lot of their old paperwork as our prop paperwork. And there were three notebooks from the '50s and '60s in which the reporter kept a record of every expenditure. They were written in this impeccable script and I found them fascinating. I would spend so much time looking through them. I have them now and I'm never going to bring them back. Also, I would like to keep my badge if I could, but that would be illegal."

When the final episode airs, how would you like it to end for your character?

"I'd just really like for her to be happy. I don't want her to be killed. She's had a tough time in little ways here and there over the years. It would be nice for her to wrap everything up being a happier person."
Since starting LovelyKathryn and reading more online articles than ever before in my live I detected more and more that people copy from other writers. I remember too well the Vincent and Kathryn will come back to final season of CI. How many links we got with the same content...20?

But back to the current case: First we got these really amazing tweets over TV Tango to the Q&A with Kathryn and Jay O. Sanders happening May, 9th.

I assume not only one reporter was calling. Two days later the same interview [the transcription of the phone call?] was online, written by Pattye Grippo (Paszas Entertainment Network) and Jamie Steinberg (Starry Constellation Magazine). This was the thrilling interview where Kathryn mentioned the binder project. I was so out of everything as I read it.
Q) Your role is so iconic and it’s become such a fan favorite, what would you like to say to everybody who’s been a supporter of Criminal Intent and yours as well?
Kathryn Erbe: I cannot thank everyone enough. This has been such an amazing experience. And it’s not - honestly, I have - since leaving the show I mean I was aware that people were enthusiastic but when I was asked to step down a year and a half ago was when I really - it really hit home for me how strongly people did support the character and me, especially this group that they collaborated on this - what they call the binder project. And they sent one to Vincent, to me and to Eric Bogosian. And when I received this sort of in the depths of my despair about not being on the show anymore it just really was - I was speechless. I was so moved by everyone’s support. It has been really just an amazing experience. I’m so, so grateful.
Maybe I'm too narrow-minded with the whole topic. But reading the new article today and seeing this special to... upset me. Yes, the author rearranged phrases and questions. He also added Kathryn's Nicole Wallace statement of the PIX talk with Tamsen Fadal, but it seams like not his own work.
You should be careful writing without to name the quotes. German misisters loose their jobs and academic degree, an EU parlamentary is on the same way...

Young Alex?

I read a nice conversation on twitter yesterday. A few of my CI friends talked about the photos at Johnny Eames’ home. I was curious and took a second glance.

Can we assume that the big b&w picture is Alex with her dad? I say yes, because it’s the one Bobby took a closer look.

Maybe we also see Alex with her mom. But the Eames kids are at least three or maybe four [Alex, Liz and at least one brother]. It’s a wide field of speculation.

The other question is, do we see a young Raymond J. Barry with one of his kids in this photo? Like my friend T’Jara would say: ‘if Criminal Intent would be a Don Bellisario (Magnum, NCIS, JAG, Quantum Leap…) show…’ Yes that would be such a sweet Easter Egg.

I read in Jay Mohr’s Blog that it lasted a whole day to shoot his family pictures of Rispetto.

This way or the other…
…it’s amazing how much details we see in Criminal Intent. I have to watch all the episodes again to catch more.

Criminal Intent Wrap Party

Half of season 10 is aired [mhm, I can't wait to watch 'The Last Street in Manhattan' in less than four hours] and there are only a few more filming days left. On Friday the whole Criminal Intent Crew celebrated at Craftbar to wrap the final season. It's sweet that they came together so close of their working place. The next weeks will tell us if it was the last wrap...

Thanks Nantz for finding the tweet of DJ MODE NYC who also posted the picture with him and Kathryn. She looked very happy. I know I saw her top before, but can't place it. It's badly time for the third 'show me your closet' post.

Worst Friends++ Update

Because we hadn't heard something about Worst Friends in the last couple of weeks and there are also no new articles about Richard Tanne's project, I wrote him an email to ask about the state of the Worst Friends affairs.

Here is his answer:

Hi Antje,

Thank you very much for checking in and for your continued interest in our film. The film is coming along great! Post-production is going smoothly but taking a tad longer than we anticipated. We are holding off on entering film festivals and trying to secure distribution until we are convinced we have the best possible version of the movie. We're very close, but I'm hesitant to give you an ETA because these things are hard to predict.

Thanks again for checking in and I promise to update you as soon as there is anything concrete!

In this whole process I also tried to contact the producers of Sunny Side Up. They still ignore my emails. I only hear from Chris of TheReel who had contact to Erica Hampson: Sunny Side Up is just finishing up its post production, and she [Erica Hampson] is not sure what will happen with it yet.

So maybe we'll get an exciting film festival autumn 2011 with a lot of Kathryn movies or maybe a very busy 2012.

P.S. Today the 3 Backyards facebook page claimed their attendance at the Sedona International Film Festival.
When you're in Arizona and have time at May, 24th get your ticket for one of the two screenings. Read more here.

These are my entries of Round 8 of crimintent20n20.

Although we had three great new Criminal Intent episodes, I ran out of ideas about my AC icons. But at my micro fluid university course I found the solution. I wanted to do CI stock opener icons for a longer time.
