200th episode?

I listened to four radio interviews of Vincent in the last couple of days, referring to his new movie: Kill the Irishman.
He also spoke more than once about his current filming of season 10 and being on set of Criminal Intent. But in all these interviews he wasn’t sure if it would be the last season, although there is that official statement that season 10 is the last and final season of that great show.

Of course, we know it’s all about the money. When the quotes are good and I hope they'll be great and USA Network can sell airtime maybe they’ll change their mind.

I won’t hold my breath and want a great season 10 with a decent arc and a lovely say good-bye, but when there would be another eight episode season, Criminal Intent would hit the magical 200 shows mark.

That would be awesome. Here a short clip of Kathryn of the 100th episode event. I would love to see and hear her making interviews promoting the new season, too.

Scared Crazy - Icon Tutorial

Yeah, we'll get (maybe, cross my fingers and hope the best) at May 1st the kick-off of Criminal Intent season 10. I can't wait to see the promo pictures and hear about the filming. I saw the two posts at VINNIE VIDI VICI and TheReel. I only need the official certification to add it in my Kathryn 2011 list ;o)

For the waiting time, here my second tutorial.

I use Photoshop CS3 and I thank cath from caths_arts for her translation list.

For a challenge I made this Criminal Intent icon of Bobby and Alex – Scared Crazy. Thanks for second place.

Step One:

Take your cap, crop the part you want to include in the icon and do everything else like sharpening or lightening. [In the most cases I add a new fill layer in white and set it to soft light. Then I duplicate the base and set it in soft light on top. Merge all three layers together and sharpen it.]

Step Two:

Brightness/Contrast: new layer --> New Adjustment Layer --> Brightness/Contrast: Brightness +20

Step Three:

Hue/Saturation: new layer --> New Adjustment Layer --> Hue/Saturation: Saturation +30

These two steps are optional and you should modify the settings according to your icon. I don’t play often with the Hue/Saturation adjustment but this time I liked the little more golden touch I could create at the light parts (coats, hair) of my icon.

Step Four:

To let Bobby and Alex glow a little bit, add a new layer and set it to soft light. Take a small soft brush (size 12) in white. Draw the outline of both and also add white at the light parts of your icon. To reduce the effect a little take the eraser tool (opacity 30%, size 60).

Step Five:

Open this texture by meathiel and set it to lighten. I really like the shiny yellow at the left down corner, but a few dots are too strong for my taste. I used again the eraser tool (opacity 30%, size 60) and dapped over the big dots.

Step Six:

Duplicate your base layer and desaturate it. Set the layer to soft light and opacity 50%. Move it on top of your layer stack.

Step Seven:

Last point: Move the layer of step four (the white outline glow) on top of your stack. Ready!

Good Luck and I would love to see your results. Please credit when using my tutorials.

P.S. I found the souce of my first tutorial, the Maggie banner. Here one cinema.

On Set of Criminal Intent

To fix my last post about Mother’s House, I visited the link section of their homepage. This way I found Michael Franklin’s internet platform.

He was a crew member for Mother’s House
[Hey everyone. We shot nine days straight.
My goal in life is to have a family. My second goal is to produce. And boy did I take my first baby steps on a short film that’s tougher than any low-budget feature I have ever worked on. I have never worked on such an ambitious project. And I loved every minute of it. I am still in awe at what we accomplished on Mother’s House.]
and also for Crackers.
[I almost went nuts on this short film.
“Crackers” was by far the hardest film i have ever worked on. A great cast and crew. And an awesome Director in Gregory Principato. I definitely want to work with him on a feature film. To take a quote from Nelson Mandela, “It always seems impossible until its done.”]
In addition he worked six years as a Production Assistant on Law and Order Criminal Intent. Michael loved every minute working with Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe.

I browsed through his photo gallery and found a lot of CI (guest) stars.

One image also shows Kathryn.

CI on Set

How cool, I can spot, Vincent and Kathryn, Chris and Annabella, Jamey and Courtney. There is also Erica Hampson. I can’t name which episode of Season 5 this is. Must be ITWSH if it’s not a promo meeting or something like this.

With following the link on the Cracker’s homepage. I also found this picture of Vincent with Sal Richards and Greg Principato:

Crackers

Please reminder tomorrow at 1st December will start my Advent calendar for you.
