Ode to Joy

Kathryn Erbe to Star in Rattlestick World Premiere of Craig Lucas' Ode to Joy - two years after the reading at Cherry Lane Theatre the play will finally go on stage and taking Kathryn with it.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater will present the world premiere of Ode to Joy, starring Tony Award nominee Kathryn Erbe, beginning February 12 at the Cherry Lane Theatre.

Written and directed by Tony and Pulitzer Prize nominee Craig Lucas, the cast will feature Erbe ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent," Speed of Darkness), Roxanna Hope (Frost/Nixon, After the Fall) and Arliss Howard ("Moneyball," Joe Turner's Come And Gone).

The production will officially open February 27 for a run through March 30.

Here's how the show is billed: "Ode to Joy tells the story of love, heartbreak, addiction, and illness through the eyes of Adele, an audacious painter and her destructive relations with Mala and Bill, her two lovers."

The creative team includes Andrew Boyce (set design), Catherine Zuber (costume design), Paul Whitaker (lighting design) and Daniel Kluger (sound design).

Lucas' writing credits include Prelude to a Kiss, Prayer for My Enemy and Reckless, as well the scripts for Marry Me a Little, Songs by Stephen Sondheim, Three Postcards and The Light in the Piazza. He also penned the Broadway aimed musical King Kong, as well as an upcoming Broadway adaptation of An American in Paris.

Mother's House on VIMEO

Finally Mother's House is free for everyone on VIMEO. After a long and successful festival tour you can watch the short film of Davis Hall with Kathryn Erbe and Tim Guinee. ENJOY!!! Thank you again Ingrid Price for all the exciting background information during the making and your support.

Mother's House from Davis Hall on Vimeo.

This 26 minute film began as a genre-bending approach to a universal story of life and loss. Intrigued by the script, veteran actors Kathryn Erbe and Tim Guinee threw themselves into an intense 7 day shoot in upstate New York. Director Davis Hall and producer Ingrid Price stepped outside their usual roles as actor and costume designer to work as a different kind of team (they are married). Mother's House screened in film festivals around the world, including Woodstock; Tallgrass; Newport Beach; Breckenridge; Lucerne, Switzerland; and Athens, Ohio.
