The Vanishing City

The Vanishing City 2

The Vanishing City

Literally hundreds of luxury high-rises are in development in Manhattan and the outer boroughs. While low-income housing such as Mitchell-Lama is being phased out, the new low and moderate income units being constructed are grossly inadequate. It is increasingly obvious that the economic development is not being evenly spread and that New York is moving closer and closer to a two-tier city of rich and poor. We decided to make a film about this...

I also contaced The Vanishing City homepage for more information and they answered:

Hi Antje,

Thank you for your interest in The Vanishing City. The film is being held up with some technical issues at the moment, but should they should be fixed shortly and we will have copies. You can buy a copy if you like. We don't know what we'll be selling them for yet.

Sincerely,
Jen

  3. I would love to see it - speaks to my historian heart. And have her narrate it. Oh sigh - that would be lovely.

  4. I'm also very interested. The same happened in Berlin - a bit.

I want to contact the vanishing city people again and ask for the DVD regio code and maybe if then now know how much a copy would cost.
