I really love the coat and also the dress. But I asked me when Alex wore that dress? Is it the one she showed us in Privilege? I have to check that but thought that dress was totally black and hadn't had these blue applications.

100 Drabble - Ball

Slowly he stepped aloft the enormous stairway. One last time, Bobby checked his appearance in the huge mirror – its golden frame reflected the lights of a thousand chandeliers. The black smoking jacket with the creamy silk shirt fit like a glove. He sighed relieved the bowtie was knotted perfectly.

Bobby’s nervous gaze caught the reflection of a familiar smile behind his shoulder.

“Where is your date?”

“I got stood-up.”

“What a shame.” Bobby’s eyes wandered over Alex’s ensemble. She wore a midnight-blue satin dress. Silver sandals set off her toned calves and antique Sterling jewels accented her flawless skin.

Bobby turned and offered his arm. “Let’s enter the ballroom…together.”

A couple of months ago my lovely CIMusings group and I collected personal stuff about Bobby and his family and also about Alex and made a comparing timeline. It was very helpful that I have my two big ‘Who are..?’ lists so I could add a few things. Last week I looked a little closer Alex’s column and added even more details.

But when you go through all the happenings of Alex’s life you see that TPTB failed. Okay, I heard in an interview of Kathryn that she and the authors knew from the beginning that Alex Eames is a widow. The CI fans first found out in 6 x 08 The War at Home. We know that René Balcer had that CI bible about all the characters and their background.

But as they said in 6 x 06 Masquerade that Alex was at the Police Academy in 1993 they made a big mistake and even more complicated for themselves. After the academy rookies have to be at least two years (in some departments five) a police patrol officers before testing for the Detective position. So Alex could switch to Vice first in 1995. Here is a big problem, when she was five years in Vice including two in Chelsea (6 x 15 Brother’s Keepers) how she could be 1999 in MCS (8 x 11 Lady’s Man)? But okay, in 1 x 13 The Insider Alex was just three years in Vice.

We also get trouble when thinking about Bobby and 4 x 01 Semi-Detached. The episode played between 6th and 14th May 2004. Do you remember that sweet academy picture what was taken of him…he said it was 12 years ago in a newspaper. So Bobby had been on the Police Academy in 1992. But he is the junior in Unit 229. So he must have finished his police training after Alex.

They shoot themselves in the foot as they made that Academy statement in Masquerade. Everything is too squeezed and it didn’t fit.

The other problem is what did Alex after College? If you assume that between Alex and Bobby is the same age difference than between Kathryn and Vincent (I colored that red!) there is a hole of four years, if Alex really did her Master and not only her Bachelor. What did she do in that time? We never heard her speaking another language…so no au pair year and if she had a PhD somewhere, they had mentioned it sometimes.

But when you make Alex even younger…

…but more than ten years younger than Bobby, no. And also the hair dry statement of Slither fit well with born in 1967.

So who cared about Alex’s vita? Nobody when you behold her Lieutenant rank in 9 x 02 Loyalty. When did she become a Sergeant?

I care and I’ll add more detail. I have to watch again the rest of season 5 and season 6 more closely and I would love to get entries of you (also when I did mistakes). When someone can organize a copy of Balcer’s CI bible, I would be thankful all the rest of my life for a peek.

Sorry, that is no Kathryn post, but maybe a few Vincent fans around München will have the possibility to go to cinema this week end.

What a shame that I first today found out (thanks to Nantz and her amazing digging talent) that tomorrow and Monday will be shown 'The New Tenants' at the MUNICH INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL.

I was just a bit perplexed while reading. I didn't know that Kathryn is such a 'spiritual' üerson. Did Stir of Echoes influenced her too much? ;o)

New Header for Unofficially Kathryn

I really like the wonderful Unofficially Kathryn board. At 1st May, untapdtreasure, the mod started a challenge for the new header of the board. We had one month for creating something. These were the rules:

• you may use any image of Kathryn Erbe that you wish.
• you may submit up to 4 headers for this competition
• the size must be 700 px wide by 300 px tall
• the header must read Unofficially Kathryn (no other words please)
• you can have animation on this header if you so desire
• your entries are due on May 31st at 8pm cst
• all members can enter

Because I really love to play with photoshop, just started a few months ago, and Kathryn is always a wonderful motif I entered four entries. (First the instructions told us ‘three entries) but I couldn’t decide which header I shouldn’t enter, so untapd was so nice to change that.
